Abstract

The natural resources of the earth are disappearing now due to many reasons. This is a great problem to the whole human race. We wanted to make a survey of how this great problem has affected our small village. This search helped us to bring forth this project.

This research that we did during this short period helped us to collect the richest knowledge about our village and the condition of our area about 25 years ago.

The truth about the disappearing of the natural resources of our area make us feel how unfortunate we are. The total area of our village is only 4 square kilometers. From this small area a lot of biological resources such as trees, birds, fish, flowers etc. have disappeared. It was a great shocking revelation for all of us.

According to this great planet the depths and width of its great loss is beyond our comprehension.

As the man has placed the sword at his own existence, it would be a great consolation for us to realise that this study brings forth a bit of awareness to everyone’s mind.

Although a lot of study regarding this subject is taking place by different organization and individuals there is a tendency that the authorities concerned are closing their eyes to this reality.

We decided to make a change in this attitude and our school has given a lot of support and encouragement to prepare this project. As a result of this we have begun an ongoing project in our school premises. We also propose to bring these points to the notice of the authorities of the Mararikulam South Grama panchayath and inforce upon them to implement proper plans.

We have experienced only an atom of indebtedness we feel towards the planet earth. With these sentiments we conclude this project.
